(dc) withholding praise

i woke up this morning thinking about how, in the Ruhi institute course on teaching children, withholding praise is taught as a form of punishment or discipline. showering the kids at all times with sincere and true love and praising them for all good deeds makes the absence of praise noteworthy enough to make them think.

how can love be invalidated by psychology? that's not possible. love is not invalidatable. secondly, it is never appropriate to withhold love from a child. absence of praise is not absence of love, and that should always be clear.
