(dc) the monday after

hi.

if you came to the house concert slash birthday party friday night, thank-you, and i hope you had fun. the cassetes and the trophymen were both really great, and we estimated somewhere between 150-200 people were there over the course of the night.

we were attempting to record the show, but we had some problems with the rental equipment and the recordings don't sound so great. nevertheless, it was a historic evening, and we'll do our best to spruce up the recordings to give to the bands.

lots of my favorite people weren't there, but many of them were, and it was a wonderful mix of young energetic people. one of my favorite parts of the evening was when three or four people were clustered on my couch with my computer trying to figure out using belief.net whether they were Bahá'ís or not.

i promised i wouldn't tell anyone, but i couldn't have done it without the electric prince's help - he did the sound and was my partner in clean-up. also, andy and carla helped set up the food, loretta brought over a bunch of food from another friend's party, and nick and jay provided the venue and also bought and served alcohol upstairs (as a baha'i, i didn't want to buy or serve alcohol in my own place, but i knew people would bring it and it was nice to have most of that happen upstairs). jose took pictures, but that might have been before things really got rocking. when he gives me the photos, i'll post them in the friday aug 19 slot.

for all of you that missed the concert, we'll try to do it again sometime soon.

and now, back to work.

Kelly it was a really good time. You brought a nice mix of people together and the space was really great for a party. We shold make this a monthly event or something because you have both the house and the talent to do something really unique...
