paypal will not reimburse me the $1442 that was stolen from me by a ukranian thief who stole someone else's credit card and talked me (the sucker) into shipping him an SLR camera. it's a big loss, and uncannily symbolic of the loss of friendship that is associated with the camera (an even bigger loss). quite fitting, but painful lessons learned. note to self (a la "million dollar baby"): always protect yourself.
